Good morning, Northeast Tech! In today's issue of Tech Tuesday, you'll hear a recap of last night's board meeting from our Superintendent Roger Crutchfield, and you'll find out what some of our students and instructors have been up to during the past month.

good morning Northeast Tech I want to bring you an update of some board agenda items from last night the first on the item was What's called the estimate of needs and just so those of you who may not know the estimate of needs is what we have to go through an exercise where we look at Water revenues might be for the upcoming year and then we're able to build our for our final budget from that right now we operate in what's called a temporary budget which is a guess about what it's going to be better in October we'll know water Revenue are going to look like and make better planning OneNote particular excitement is an agenda item there to secure the services of Brewer Construction Company in gh2 Architects board did approve hiring them to design and build a welding shop for the Aston campus so Corey Winesburg can continue what he does welding school program there and that it has good retention and completion good enrollment placement there's a tremendous need for welding and we definitely need the the modern space and the more space with Corey to work in so we're going to be building that if their Renovations do continue across the district with cosmetology at prior and the biz renovation so we got a lot going on in this district and you will notice the consent agenda laundry list of more routine nature field trips in and different things in there that Minot may not be particularly interesting but I'm always open to any questions if you have any in your Camp attractors can't answer those I do have an item on their under Personnel a couple things I wanted to let you know I won if you see Janine Perry menu congratulate her she did a painter master's degree and board policy that does authorized payment of $3,000 to her so that is an addendum to her contract because she completed her master's degree and the other related to some health careers instructors across the district they have their school nurse credential up to this point have an official school nurse if you will and what we have found is statutory play in through guidance for the Oklahoma board of nursing that school nurse designation gives them particular safeguards and also authority to help us make the best decisions when it comes to our students and their safety and and being able to buy the best educational experience that all of our students can have our goal there's really not to add more to them but they can be that first stop this at campus tractor or any staff may have if they have a question regarding a school student and their health concerns I we don't want to take away anything away from their classroom teaching they're not people I'm going to be running up there to get their blood pressure is taken in that kind of thing when a student brings in a particular medication at does allow us to know who to go to that might give us some guidance as to whether or not we should be doing that and where the documents we need to be able to continue doing that so more on that it's campus tractor if you have questions about that I do want to let you know we have a couple of personnel hirings that the board conducted last night and one would be a custodian for the Afton campus and then we also have a need for a business office specialist that doing payroll will be a new person here at Central they will be able to help you with those needs Greg ciminna was also listed on that executive session agenda and the intent there's to correct his contract error on Greg's contract that we had to correct me out for today and I do wish you all a great next month before I come back again but I do want to thank you for all that you do and as we said beginning of the year and knowing your why and as I've been across the district the last month I've had several comments in particular that you got as a continual reminder hopefully as you evaluate each everyday in every task that you undertake is to know your why know the benefits you are to your school and your communities and the patrons that we served have a great week by as the new school year gets underway the visual patients program from the prior campus teamed up with Adult Ed to help aid in the first tech for seniors class last month Jeff Faulkner students listened and answered any Tech questions or issues that the participants brought to the class the ease program at the clam campus will be offering the same assistance later this month when the campus hostek for seniors on Wednesday September 25th if you have any questions or want to enroll call the Claremore campus at 918-3428 066 that's going to do it for this edition of tech Tuesday enjoy your day and we'll see you next month
