The Oklahoma Office of Workforce Development (OOWD) offers Registered Apprenticeships as a solution to building employee skills to meet your workforce needs. Registered Apprenticeship is a flexible training strategy that allows manufacturers to train workers in the exact skills and competencies they need. Through a combination of on-the-job-training and customized technical instruction, current or potential employees can earn wages while they learn. It’s also a way to formalize the process of transferring knowledge from your highly experienced employees to those just getting started. A process that can help ensure that knowledge transfer actually happens!
Employees participating in the Registered Apprenticeship program will receive a certificate from the Department of Labor upon graduation that signifies that they have mastered the skills and knowledge required for proficiency of a specific skill or occupation.
More good news—In addition to NE Tech Business & Industry Services providing training for many of the competencies, they have also created an Industrial Maintenance Apprenticeship Consortium to help companies create a pipeline of qualified Industrial Maintenance Technicians.
