Board Policy 5071
Incentivized Credential for Maintenance and Custodial Staff
This board policy applies to regular, full-time employees as defined by Board Policy 5070 and work in the maintenance and/or custodial departments.
In order to qualify for the incentive under this policy the credential must be earned from Northeast Technology Center. When relevant, current state licenses may be recognized in place of training.
Employees who earn this credential shall qualify for a Credential Incentive, once it has been approved by the Superintendent, that will be added to their contract for the following fiscal year. Eight (8) hours of annual continuing education is required to retain the Credential Incentive and must be completed by June 30 each year. All of the required continuing education must be selected from the Incentivized Credential Checklist to be counted toward the eight (8) hours. If the continuing education is not completed by June 30 the Credential Incentive will be removed from the employees’ contract. If the employee is able to complete the required annual continuing education, the Credential Incentive will be added to the employees’ contract for the following fiscal year. If the employee allows their Credential to lapse for more than one (1) year, they will be required to start over with the Incentivized Credential training. Employees must complete the Introductory Training before attending the Advanced Training.
Employees, upon completing the Introductory Training will receive a $1,000 Credential Incentive as part of their annual contract as described above.
Employees, upon completing the Advanced Training will receive a $2,000 Credential Incentive as part of their annual contract as described above.
The additional Incentivized Credential compensation will be for (1) one of the amounts described above. If both the Introductory and Advanced Training is completed, the higher of the programs will be compensated and not combined.
