Educational Incentive
This board policy applies to regular, full-time employees as defined by Board Policy 5070.
In order to qualify for an incentive under this policy the degree earned must be from a college or university approved and / or governed by the Oklahoma State Board of Regents for Higher Education. Any exception to this requirement must be approved by the Board of Education.
Employees who earn a college degree approved by this policy shall qualify for advancement on the salary schedule pursuant to this policy. Effective July 1, 2020, the employee shall be moved, at the start of the next fiscal year, to the appropriate degree column or level once documentation in the form of official college transcripts showing the degree and date the degree was awarded has been submitted to and approved by the Superintendent.
Employees, upon completing a Bachelor’s Degree in their field of work will receive a one-time payment of $3,000.00 for the completion of the degree at an institution approved by this policy. Employees must submit to the Superintendent, verification with official college transcripts showing the degree and date the degree was awarded. An employee may collect this payment one time during his or her employment with NTC.

The one-time educational incentive payment will be paid as a stipend at the pay period following the submitted verification, to the Superintendent, of the official college transcripts showing the degree and the date the degree was awarded.
