Use of Tobacco on School Property
Smoking and the use of tobacco products, as defined herein, is prohibited on Northeast Technology Center property by all persons except as otherwise provided in this policy.
“Tobacco products” include, but are not limited to: cigarettes; cigars; loose tobacco; rolling papers; chewing tobacco; snuff; matches; lighters; e-cigarettes; digital/personal vaporizers; and electronic nicotine delivery systems.
The School District may also properly use drug-detecting dogs to discover narcotics and dangerous drugs in empty classrooms, hallways or other areas in which students are not present.
Tobacco products will be permitted for use by adults attending training courses, sessions, meetings, or seminars only in designated areas outside of buildings, away from general traffic areas, and completely out of sight of children under eighteen (18) years of age. No secondary student, regardless of age, will be allowed or permitted to use tobacco products.
All students and employees will be advised that it is against NTC Policy for them to use tobacco products, except as permitted by this Policy.
Violations: Students and employees found to be in violation of this Policy will be subject to disciplinary action
