Admission
The partner school or secondary student applicant for admission to the program/programs of Northeast Technology Center must:
Be a legal resident of that part of the school district comprising the Technology Center District.
Be progressing satisfactorily toward graduation in a partner high school.
Have written consent of his/her parents or legal guardian.
Obtain approval of his/her counselor or high school principal.
Evidence skills and abilities necessary for achieving success in the program for which the student applies.
Also the following criteria may be observed and evaluated for each student applicant:
Occupational objective of the applying student.
Student record of past performance in the local high school.
Standardized test data relevant to school performance and occupational objective.
Successful completion of required course prerequisites.
Additional testing as suggested and or required by student record.
Interview with Instructor.
Before final acceptance of the student applicant, the Technology Center administrator must approve the student’s application to the course program for which he/she has applied. In sum, the student applicant will be carefully reviewed and evaluated before program placement.
Adult daytime student applicants will be admitted using the above criteria as slots are available. Adult students may enroll either halftime (3 hours per day) or fulltime (6 hours per day), as slots are available. Both secondary and adult students will abide by the policies outlined in the student handbook.
There will be no discrimination in any Northeast Technology Center campus facilities because of race, color, sex, pregnancy, gender, gender expression or identity, national origin, religion, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, age, or genetic information in its programs, services, activities and employment.
