Student Transportation and School Vehicles

In keeping with state law, the District may operate a transportation system, or at its discretion contract for transportation services.

In carrying out its educational mission the District maintains a fleet of required school vehicles. These vehicles, as with all other District equipment, are under the general supervision of the Superintendent, or his/her designee.

All school business trips involving school vehicles must have prior approval by the appropriate administrator. When a personal vehicle is used for school business, the trip and usage must be approved in advance by the proper administrator. The vehicle must carry the proper amount of insurance as required by state law for tort liability.

When on school business, all vehicles (both private and official) shall be driven in a responsible fashion applying all safe driving procedures.

Reservation and use of all school vehicles are scheduled through the Campus Director.

When it is deemed advisable and in the best interests of the District, a school vehicle may be permanently assigned to a given individual for his/her exclusive use.
