Two students from the Diesel Repair Program at NTC Pryor volunteered to drive 14 hours roundtrip to deliver hay to ranchers affected by the fires in the Oklahoma Panhandle. Local ranchers Jack and Bonnie Kerr donated multiple bales of hay, and NTC students Blake Gerber and Trent Harris volunteered their time and equipment to haul the supplies across the state.

Among those 23,000 participants was Northeast Technology Center Board Member, Rosalie Griffith. Griffith has been participating in the St. Jude Marathon Weekend since 2004.

Jerimi Stokes of Claremore is preparing to run a diagnostics test on the program’s newest training vehicle – a 2016 Mustang donated by Ford. Although slightly damaged, the car is valued at more than $26,000 and is a welcome training tool for the Auto Service Program at NTC Pryor.

Northeast Technology Center serves students from high schools, private schools and home schools across eight counties in northeast Oklahoma. A lot of kids and adults come through NTC’s programs every year to receive career and technical training. But it’s not often that four successful students are all from the same family. However, such is the case with the Hunter, Jordan, Jack and Grace Smith. The four siblings and their mother are proud to be advocates of the Oklahoma CareerTech system.

Automotive program earns national accreditation

The Automotive Service Technology Program at Northeast Technology Center’s Pryor Campus has received accreditation by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF). To achieve this recognition, the school’s automotive training program underwent rigorous evaluation by NATEF examiners using nationally accepted standards of excellence in areas such as instruction, facilities and equipment.

Haas grant at NTC Kansas
NTC’s welding program receives Haas Foundation grant

Northeast Technology Center’s Kansas Campus was recently awarded a $5,000 grant from the Gene Haas Foundation to put towards improving its welding program.
