The results of our board election
have been tallied and certified.
In the Feb. 14 election, Sherman
Weaver was elected to our Zone
2 board position. When you have
the opportunity, congratulate Mr.
Weaver. The board, administration
and staff look forward to continuing
our good work with Mr. Weaver.
As we welcome Mr. Weaver to our
board, we also say farewell to Billy
Hendrickson. Mr. Hendrickson served
on our board for 13 years. He was
presented a certificate of recognition
during the March 6 board meeting.
His dedication and hard work will
always be appreciated.
Each year NTC earmarks a small
amount of funding to be used for
professional development. An
opportunity that is available to our
instructors is “Instructors in Industry.”
This program allows our teachers
to be present in businesses and
industries that are directly related
to the skills and knowledge that
they teach. Being up-to-date with
industry practices is crucial to the
success of our teachers and their
students. Spending a week or two
during the summer in a related
business helps keep these teachers
abreast of current trends in the
industry that they teach.
“I can say the willingness to get
dirty has always defined us as a
nation, and it’s a hallmark of
hard work and a hallmark of fun, and
dirt is not the enemy.” - Mike Rowe
Keep up the good work!
